?What is the carbon footprint that we hear so much about?

The carbon footprint represents the total volume of greenhouse gases (GHG) that we produce in economic and daily activities. In our daily lives, we leave a trail of gases that overheat the planet. This accelerates climate change. It is important and urgent to neutralize them in time to make the planet more habitable.

Why do we care about the carbon footprint?

Who doesn't care? And, being an e-commerce site, it makes us especially sensitive. When carriers transport our orders, those harmful greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), are released into the atmosphere. To balance out their negative impact, we seek to compensate them with something that has a positive impact.

You talk about compensating: how do you do it?

Each order has an impact (a weight and kilometers traveled until delivery) that can be transformed into euros. At Laconicum we have decided to offset the footprint of each order by investing that amount in financing innovative companies that capture carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere and store it. This mitigates their impact. Something is something and this something is a lot.

Will there be any extra cost?

No, your order will not be affected. The cost will be assumed by you. Laconicum. It is the  least we can do.
