What is Laconicum
Laconicum is an extraordinary and independent cosmetics store for pioneering minds, beauty freaks and the curious.
That is our official and formal definition. We invented Laconicum in 2012 because Laconicum did not exist.
We traveled, we browsed, we bought cosmetics and we shared our discoveries. We went to Kyoto and brought back essences that looked like spring water. We went to Stockholm and we wondered about those strong, Swedish hair. Then we came back and we told each other about it. That is the origin of this place you are in. We are cosmetic detectives. Today we continue traveling and discovering extraordinary brands.
We found the name of Laconicum by pure serendipity. Visiting a Roman house in Évora we saw a laconicum, a kind of sauna where residents and their friends would gather to relax and chat. Laconicum is a space for decompression and connection. We like you to buy, but also to come in, read and discover.
Our brands are difficult to find in Spain, even impossible. Laconicum is full of oddities (we are snobs like that) and all our products must have an X factor that makes us fall in love. We seek results and also emotions. We believe in Nature and Science, especially when they go hand in hand.
We are terrible judges and We choose brands very carefully. We select cosmetics that are inspiring, honest and have a touch of madness, just like our favorite people. At Laconicum you will find superbrands and small emerging firms, projects from California and Galicia.
