Laconicum Pleasure No. 15

Buying flowers, like Mrs. Dalloway

What does María, founder of Laconicum, carry in her beach bag?

We look into the travel bags of the founders of Laconicum. One, a maximalist, takes everything with her when travelling by car. Another, a minimalist, reduces her routine to the bare minimum, for comfort, space and time. Today we're going with the first, María, who takes everything in her beach bag.

What does Maria, founder of Laconicum, carry in her beach bag?

When I go to the beach, my cosmetics take up almost as much space as my clothes. I enjoy planning weeks in advance, knowing that when I go by car I have no size limit and I can travel with everything I want. And I want a lot.

Summer disheveled

I'm a hair freak and on the beach it tends to be completely out of control. So I resort to my arsenal; I don't risk seeing what happens. amenities is in the hotel or what is the shampoo that the previous vacationer left in the apartment.

My hair products:

Aesop Shampoo, (in 100ml). I wash my hair every day at the beach, so this shampoo is gentle enough not to dry it out, but powerful enough to leave it nice and clean.

Centred leave-in conditioner. I love applying it after swimming at the beach. It helps me comb my hair, leaves it soft and leaves a wonderful scent.

Happy Endings by Sam McKinhgt. On the beach it takes a long time to dry and it does so at its own pace. With this  finishing product I make sure to keep it worthy.

And on the face?

I don't cut back on the number of products I carry in my macro bag either. I'm going on holiday and I want to apply everything I know I'm going to want, I don't want to miss anything.

During the day, I use sun protection;  nothing more. This year I have been Standard Procedure SPF50+, both for the face and the body. Last year it worked very well for me: I got a tan, I didn't burn and my skin was super nice.

At night, I clean my skin well and apply, for a few days, an oil (Light Fantastic by Pai Skincare) and others, a powerful cream like The Cream by Augustinus Bader.

Another thing I love is to do an express cleansing at midday with a micellar water. Natura Bissé is my favorite. A nap with clean, fresh skin feels much better.

Let's go with the body! And I'm already on 7 products

I focus on the sensations. I look for freshness and that is what gives me the Standard Procedure Aloe Vera After-Sun. I love the wonderful scent (and texture) of Air-lite, that I apply, not only on my legs, but on my entire body.

Anything else? Of course. I can't help but add a few perfume, a good mascara and a blush.

Can that seem like a lot of things? Yes. Do I need them all? Yes, too. Long live cosmetic maximalism!
