When Alexis Granite, a New York dermatologist with Persian roots, was a child, she enjoyed opening the jars and bottles of her grandmother's lotions and potions, smelling the perfumes that emanated. When she grew up, she became a dermatologist, a highly respected one. Some of her credentials? She's part of the She has been certified by the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group (BCDG), and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). In 2012, after moving with her family to the United Kingdom, she became the first dermatologist certified in the United States.
After 20 years of direct contact with patients' skin, she knew one thing: the skin doesn't end at the chin, so why don't we stop taking serious care of it with clinical cosmetics? The problem is that Alexis found clinical cosmetics... too clinical. She wanted to feel the same way she did when she opened her grandmother's lotions. And she created Joonbyrd.
This brand has a dual and commendable function. The first is to rigorously care for the skin and its problems (dryness, pigmentation, irritation, etc.), just as it does with its patients. All its products feature patented technology; it's designed to strengthen the skin at the cellular level, reinforce the connection between the skin and the mind, and achieve visible and lasting results. And the second is to do so with joy, with emotion, with color. That's why its products don't seem clinical. They're designed to make us feel good. And they succeed.
