You have to be pretty sure of what you're doing to call a cosmetics brand "stable." Nick Jones, the creator of this one, was. She owned a beautiful hotel, Babington House, on a farm in the middle of 16 acres of countryside where beauty treatments were offered. According to Nick, there were no face, hair, or body products on the market that fit the natural philosophy of Babington House, which was the name of the (super-desirable) place.
Good old Jones decided to create his own products with herbs from his garden, to which he added essential oils from around the world. In 1998, Cowshed was born. The name was inevitable: the beauty treatments were performed in what had been a stable. Since then, Cowshed has grown without losing the irreverent, pampered air that Nick Jones instilled in it from the very beginning. You'd have to be English to know how to use a cow as a cosmetic inspiration.
