What is someone who has studied law and philosophy at King's College in London doing creating perfumes? And what is a graphic and product designer doing inventing perfumes? And what is an Englishman doing behind from a French perfume house? The answer to these three questions is in James Heeley. Born in Yorkshire but living in Paris, he is the founder and sole owner of his brand . This is very difficult to find in a European luxury perfume house. This independence gives Heeley enormous freedom to create the perfumes he wants; even to touch them up over time if he sees that he wants or needs to do so. 

Heeley is a collection of fragrances that have in common their cleanliness and freshness, even when they include woods or spices. They also share the high quality of its raw materials, an obsession for this perfumer. They are designed for men and women. In fact, those borders are ignored.  Heeley himself, not content with being the owner and founder, is also the designer of the labels, packaging and the entire image of the brand. Heeley is Heeley. And  Laconicum smells like Heeley.
