You are using the dry shampoo below their means. We tell you six uses that we have tested and celebrated and that make it a product worth having very close by.
How do you use dry shampoo?
We tend to think that it only serves to space out washes, but it can do a lot for you if you have bangs, if you want volume, if your hair tends to stay a bit limp, if you like to refresh, literally, your scalp, if you have oily hair... These are the six uses of the dry shampoo that we have tried and loved.
#1 Space out washes
This is the best known function. A dry shampoo absorbs oil and leaves hair feeling and looking clean and loose. It doesn't replace washing (it doesn't dry clothes), but it does postpone it. It's a great invention for lazy people, travelers, and people short on time. We all are at some point.
#2 Control your bangs
A fringe has a life of its own, as anyone who has one knows well. Dry shampoo helps you keep your hair under control and neatly styled. Apply it to your roots and work it in with your fingers to absorb the oil and leave your bangs loose, or, as Sam McKnight does, with a brush.
#3 Refresh the scalp
Maria, from the Laconicum team, explains this benefit to us: “
Lazy GirlSam McKnight's dry shampoo is literally refreshing; when I apply it, my scalp feels cool. So, I don't need to use it on a dirty scalp; my straight hair always appreciates it for detangling and refreshing, especially when the heat comes.
#4 Add volume
Dry shampoo is a great friend to fine, limp hair. With a touch, a flusflusThe hair gains volume, texture, and body. The result is a mane worthy of Capote's swans.
#5 Hide gray hair
Some days dry shampoo can be the most important product in your cosmetic arsenal.
Dark Volume Powder, by Sachajuan not only allows you to space out washes, but, due to its dark color, it camouflages gray hair.
#7 Extend your hairstyle
Take note: dry shampoo helps you set and maintain your style. By absorbing oil from your hair, it prevents your style from falling out. It's your new hairspray.
How do you apply dry shampoo?
You can apply directly to the roots, separating your hair into sections and then massaging it in with your fingers to absorb the dirt and lift the roots. You can also style it with a hairdryer afterward.
And you can apply it with a brush. Spray the dry shampoo onto a fine-bristled brush and comb through your hair.
